The graded race action continued today with the annual running of the Hershey Kiss Classic (GII). This race, created in honor of the first horse ever created on Equination, took place for the twelfth time. It attracted some big middle-dirt runners and here are the results!
The Hershey Kiss Classic is a mile and a quarter race on the dirt for four-year-olds and up. A purse of $500,000 was available and next season the age restriction will be changed to six-year-olds and up. In a very impressive performance, Fresh Coco MD took the lead turning for home and pulled away, cruising to a five and three-quarter length victory. The LHF four-year-old stallion earned a career-best 127 rating for his efforts. Bred by Nice Try Stable, Coco is a son of In Vertigo and Lysterfield Belle. He captured the Equination.net Derby (GI) last season and followed that up with third in the Paramount Stakes (GI) and fourth in the Equination.net Classic (GI). He has won 12 of 20 starts and has banked over $1.8 Million in his career.
Crossing the wire second after setting a swift pace was Noody Dance, who earned a 121.1 rating for his efforts. The Gold Horse homebred is a five-year-old stallion by noody out of Time To Dance. He won the Equination.net Mile (GI) last season and also received the Dirt Route-Runner award. He has 14 wins in 26 starts and over $2 Million in earnings. Taking third was eHorse, who earned a 120.85 rating for owner and breeder NexStar Racing. The four-year-old stallion has 9 wins in 20 starts and nearly $1 Million in earnings.
Congratulations to all participants, handicappers and our remaining three Survivor players!
