The Oaks and Turf Marathon Fields
Written by: Jacklyn Wyatt on February 3rd, 2010

It's Derby Week in Equination.net! Coming up on the weekend are the first jewels of both the Triple Crown an Triple Tiara series as well as another Grade II event. In this article, we'll take a quick look at the top runners for those competing in Saturday's races - the Equination.net Oaks (GI) and the EQ.net Turf Marathon (GII).

The Equination.net Oaks is the first jewel of the Triple Tiara series. It is a mile and three-quarters on the dirt for three-year-old fillies and offers a purse of $900,000. Some very talented fillies have made the field and here are some of the top runners.
Vocalised Conda comes here off of a career-best 121 rated second-place finish. She may be racing back to back off of that effort, though last time she raced off of a 120 outing she dropped to a 111.
Austin's Daisy is by last year's hot sire Awesome Austin. She has a HRR of 119.65, earned two starts ago, and has since put in a solid three-furlong work from the gates with a 112.4 rating.
Mexican Cat didn't break her maiden until her second three-year-old race but has recently found her stride and won a listed stake with a career-best 121.9 rating. She will more than likely be racing back to back off of that effort.
Roydon Desire may have a HRR of only 118.65, but she has put in a fast 112.9 rated workout since her most recent start. This is her best workout yet and it will be interesting to see how she performs off of it.
Your Ashtray has one of the most impressive workouts of the group, having earned a 120.5 rating when working a half mile on Jan 30. She will be looking to improve on her HRR of 117.8.
Clover Queen also puti n a solid workout, which could mean she is leading up to a big effort. This filly has a HRR of 120.5 and worked a half mile with a rating of 116.17 on Feb 2.

The EQ.net Turf Marathon is a two mile race on the turf for three and four-year-olds. A purse of $600,000 is available.
Billande Gaelic LT earned a career-best 128 rating last time out, which is quite impressive for a three-year-old filly. This may be her third race back to back, though.
Moonlit Armor comes here off of three straight 121+ finishes, including two over 124.7. This may also be his third race back to back since training.
Jupiter Oasis heads into this race off of a 124.5 rated outing, which is one of three 121+ races in a row. She has dipped a bit in workout rating, but put in a 105.25 rated work from the gates over a half mile on Feb 1.
Slip Storming the CastleLT heads into this race off of two very impressive outings, earning a 126.5 and a 130 rating. He also looks like he will be racing his third time back to back.
Snow's Lay Your Hands heads into this race off of a solid 110.5 rated workout. It was his first workout since December, which he ran a 122.15 rating off of.
Divine Power looks to be in solid form, earning two 123+ ratings in his two most recent starts. The 125.5 HRR colt recently put in a four furlong workout with a 106.25 rating.
Tippy Shiney Flash earned a 124.35 rating last time out and has four 120+ ratings in his five most recent starts. He may be racing back to back off his most recent effort.
Ipitydafool earned a career-best 124 rating in her most recent start. The three-year-old filly has also put in a solid half mile work from the gates with a 113 rating, her best workout yet.

Good luck to all participants, handicappers and remaining survivor players!
