Today was Derby Day in Equination.net with the annual running of the Equination.net Derby (GI). The Derby is the first of three races in the Triple Crown series for three-year-olds. As always, it attracted a solid field of contenders and here are the results!

The prestigious Equination.net Derby is a mile and a quarter race on the dirt for three-year-olds. It offers a purse of $1 Million and the top three finishers gain auto-entry into the Paramount Stakes (GI) and Equination.net Classic (GI), the remaining two races of the series. In a big move from the back of the pack as the field turned for home, The Blizzards threaded through horses to take the lead and pull away to a decisive five and a half length victory. The FDL Lodge homebred is by Into The Abyss out of Kisthos and he earned a 126.75 rating for his effort. This victory was his sixth in nine starts and the now Millionaire has yet to finish off the board.

Crossing the wire second was Franco's Paradox, who earned a career-best 121.4 rating for owner McDonald Racing. The colt was bred by super good training and is a son of Franco Elrohir and Lollipop Paradox. He has won 8 of 12 starts, never finishing off the board, and now has over $650,000 in earnings. Backtalk finished third with a 120.7 rating. The Wildcat Racing homebred is a son of Awesome Austin and Zanmarish FC. He has won 8 of 10 starts and also hasn't finished off the board yet. He has over $650,000 in earnings after today.
